LS-Dyna to Optistruct Conversion

Hi,

 

I am converting a model from LS-Dyna to Optistruct to check the frequency (Modal Analysis). How to convert LS-Dyna single surface/surface to surface contact to Optistruct method? What is the equivalent method to convert these type of contacts? Please reply at the earliest.

Hi Suresh,

 

Solver conversion doesn't support everything. When you convert Dyna to OptiStruct contacts may not be supported for conversion.

 

In such case you have to create contacts again in OptiStruct using Analysis page>> Interfaces.

 

One more point is contacts are non linear in nature so these contacts maybe ignored during modal analysis.

 

Instead of contacts you can use gap elements or RBEs to keep the components connected.
