EDEM Tutorial 19 - Bonded MetaParticle SpheroCylinder

This tutorial focuses on how to construct spherocylinder Meta-Particles. This is useful for creating long ‘strand-like’ material. The benefit of using spherocylinder, compared to spheres, is that fewer elements are needed to construct the meta-particle; therefore, reducing the computational overhead required.

 

The tutorial also includes the "fixed velocity" particle option to allow the bed of material to be introduced to the cutting blade and allows the root of the flexible particle to be fixed to the ground.
