Radioss offers the capability to store the deformed mesh and its corresponding material state between different simulations. This feature gives an excellent flexibility in multi-stage simulations, such as:

  • Considering the manufacturing process into a crash simulation
  • Consecutive drop test simulations
  • Dummy and seat settling for a crash Loadcase

Some element states that can be recorded are:

  • Nodal positions (deformed mesh)
  • Element thickness
  • Stress and strains
  • Temperature
  • Fiber orientation

This article includes:

  • A presentation showing how /STATE keyword works and how to use it
  • An example tensile test model with comparison using and without using /STATE

The Model and Presentation can be downloaded here.
