hi,
could anyone help me understand what 'couples of parts' mean in the intersection checking (checked through Quality>Check all solver contact interfaces)?
thank you,
Bharath
Hi Bharath,
Penetration is defined as the overlap of the material thickness of shell elements, while Intersection is defined as elements that actually pass completely through one another: Penetration is checked with the thickness data of the material where as intersection is verified by elements passing through between the components and so it is displayed as couple of parts.
Please go through Penetration Check in Help where this is well explained.
