Defining ACCELi with hypermesh


Defines static acceleration loads at a specific SET of GRID points in the model. Additionally, scale factors for varying direction acceleration loads can be defined using tabular data.

Create Node Sets for ACCEL2                                                                    Mandatory Step*

  1. Open Analysis page > entity sets
  2. Give Name for entity sets (name= accel2).
  3. Set Card Image as SET_GRID (important step)
  4. Under Entity select required nodes >Click create.

Create Load collector for SPC

  • Go to Model Browser
    • Right click > Create > Load Collector.
    • Provide the required name.
    • Select Card image as None.

Create constraints

    • Click on Analysis panel > Constraints
    • Click on create > select nodes.
    • Define DOF.
    • Click on create.

Create Load collector for ACCEL2

  • Go to Model Browser
    • Right click > Create > Load Collector.
    • Provide the required name.
    • Select Card image as None.

Create ACCEL2 Load Collector

    • Open Analysis page > accels
    • Under sets select the entity set (Node Set only) which you have created (accel2).
    • Enter magnitude and direction.
    • Select load type= ACCEL2.
    • Click Create.

Create Linear Static Load step

    1. Define Analysis Type as Linear Static
    2. Define SPC and ACCEL2 as LOAD.
    3. Under Output section select Displacement, strain and Stress.
    4. Run the Setup using Optistruct.
