This article discusses the different options available for introducing damping in frequency response and transient response analysis of OptiStruct solver.

Explanations are provided for:

  • viscous damping
  • structural damping
  • modal damping
  • rayleigh damping

Damping cards for FRF and Transient analysis are reviewed with both direct and modal solution approach.
