Yield strength and Tensile strength
Dear All,
In static analysis ,Mat1 , how to give the properties of Yield strength and Tensile strength. In optistruct How it considers?
Thanks

In MAT1 you would find MATS1 limit 1 is for yield strength.

Dear Rahul,
After giving the Yield strength using MATS1 following error occurs.
(this is continuation line 1 of MATS1,1 bulk data)
*** ERROR # 4068 ***
TYPE = 'NLELAST' is only supported in NLGEOM, IMPDYN and EXPDYN subcases.*** Run terminated because of error(s) in the input data.
Thanks

Dear Rahul,
In static analysis while varying the value of yield stress there is no change in the results of displacement and stress.
How it is possible???
Thanks

Yes it should not alter output of Stress & displacement.Stress depend upon force & area.Displacement also based on mat (E,nu,rho) & structure dimension.

Hello all,
I am doing a nonlinear simulation with plastic components. (Material - PA6 30%GFR)
According to user guide in MATS1 for TYPE=NLESLAT defined. And rest all entries (YF, HR, LIMIT1) did not call, Material is brittle in nature but the behaviour of curve is nonlinear. (Cf. image attached)
o For this set up I am getting an *** ERROR # 4068 ***.
· Then If I change, NLSTAT to NLGEOM
o I am getting an *** ERROR # 4009 ***
· If I use DTI_UNITS control cards
o Then there are no any errors, but results are not available for corner data.
Could you please suggest a correct deck set up to get the results.
