Advantages of 3D Scatterplot Data Visualizations

This video explains the benefits of using the 3D scatterplot data visualization. The 3D scatterplot is often more useful than a regular 2D scatterplot when you need to understand the correlation between three variables instead of only two. In the 3D scatterplot, we can twist and turn the display with the mouse pointer and observe the dataset from any angle and perspective. In contrast, 2D scatterplots require use of several different visualizations in combination to convey the same information.
