To determine the resistance of non meshed coils, you have to follow the next steps:

  • when defining non mesh coils, define the resistivity and the fill factor
  • if it is linked to a coil component in the circuit, set the resistance formula to zero
  • run the [Check Physics] command

You can then edit the non meshed coil and look at the [evaluated information] tab. If you have symmetry or periodicity, then:

  • when you look at the non meshed coil, the resistance is corresponding to the non meshed coil in the represented finite element part (for instance 0.001 ohm)
  • when you edit the coil component in the circuit part, the evaluated resistance is the sum of the [resistance formula] PLUS the evaluated resistance due to resistivity and fill factor, adapted for the whole device (for instance 0.002 ohm if you have a symmetry and that everything is in parallel).
