Modeling, Loading, Analysing, and Designing a Two-Story Concrete House

Structural design has many applications in construction, including big structures like bridges, high-rise buildings, and state-of-the-art stadiums. 

However, residential structures like apartment buildings and single-family houses remain a vital part of society, and having an efficient way of getting through the whole design process in an ever-evolving and fast-paced industry is of the utmost importance. 

With Altair's tools for Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC), the process is heavily simplified without sacrificing accuracy or safety

From an architectural drawing to a Finite Element Analysis Model, using S-FRAME's framework generator we can obtain a simplified geometry that can be heavily customized to the exact specifications of the architectural design and later loaded, either element by element or using the Area Loads tool, to represent the tributary areas of each concrete slab and its loads transmission. 


With a working structure and the loading conditions added, a linear static analysis can be executed to extract the internal forces working on each member that we can later use to design the structural elements like the Beams and Columns according to the building codes relevant to the region where the project is to be executed, making sure that each element's geometry and reinforcement passes the code-check and can be built.

S-CONCRETE provides a user-friendly and easy learning interface so this process is seamless. 


After obtaining the design of the concrete sections, we can export this to 2D drawings and bring them on-site to guarantee the correct execution of the project.
