Thermal analysis of forced convection

Hey guys,

 

I am investigating the thermal simulation capabilities of Hyperworks. For the current project we want to simulate a case which can be seen as a forced convection scenario.

 

It is all aboult a cooling system which exists from a aluminium profile and several fluids. We want to calculate the heat flux distribution (our goal: maximum heat flux), temperature fields, structural questions.

 

What I can not find is how to model a forced convection boundary condition. Let's say I know the temperature of my fluids as well as the heat transfer coefficients between aluminium and the fluids. How can I model this in Hyperworks? In Abaqus there is the possibility to model a so called film condition which allows me to specify heat transfer coefficients and temperatures of the fluids.

    Hi Prakash,

     

    I have looked over that tutorial, but there is only free convection which can be applied to a material ID and therfore is not suitable when I want to model different heat transfer coefficients on each side of one material. Is there a 'standard' way to model forced convection?
