Inspire crashing randomly after instaling new version

Hi,

I had Inspire 2019.4, downloaded the installer for 2020.1.1 to update.

Deleted the previous version, uninstalling it, and installed the new one from its specific installer (No Hyperworks master installer).

As soon as I opened the file I was working on in 2019.4 random crashes started to happen.

Crash type is simply the app closing, no messages, no "Inspire.exe stopped working" even.

I created a new file from 2020.1.1 and everything seemed fine, crashes only occured if I tried to use the wheighting tool (don't know why). I avoided it and everything else seemed ok, even when it crashed once that way, file didn't appear to be corrupted.

Yesterday while using polynurbs on that same file, after an hour of work it crashed again for no reason, I was wrapping a section. I had a recent save but when I tried to open it today, it started crashing without any move, after 3 seconds it had been open.

Tried a fresh installation multiple times, even with Master Installer and also trying to eliminate any residue file or registry key: nothing new.

Any suggestion? Where can I find log file for the crashes?

Guess you meant "drivers", by the way yes they are. I get nVidia FPS counter in the left top angle of the model display part, if it's useful in any way or meaningful

UPDATE:

I suspect there's something wrong in the registry, since the uninstaller I used to clean remaining files showed an error regarding the registry itself. Is there any tool to reset registry keys regarding altair programs?

I already uninstalled but the error keeps happening randomly, it just closes the program. Any other way to diagnose it?

Should I install any other program other than Inspire? I only installed it after the update, does it need other programs from Inspire to run correctly?

Hi! I know this is an old post, but did you ever find a solution to this issue? I have the exact same problem, and deleting all the related registry folders I could find didn't do anything. Thanks!

Update: running Inspire as administrator solved the issue (at least temporarily).
