Hi everyone,

I use for some pressure loads a selection of 2D elements (quad) with SURF card image in Set Segments. I don't know why but sometime, when a made some minor change, 80% of my elements selection in the Set Segment disappear. It's look like it's happen randomly...

Do you guys know if the meshing elements could be link with something specific that I don't know?

Thx!

Regards,

Axel

If you are remeshing elements that have PLOAD4s on them, yes they will probably disappear as the set that is used to assign to the loads have the element ids changing.

You could try this option (assuming your loads are created with a set)

    Hi thx for your reply,

I understand that a remeshing would update my set segment but why when it's a specific part (not link with other part) it update all me set with deleting 80% of them... As you said may it come from ID update ? Is it possible to freeze it?

Second question that should be link, do you know the difference between sets (with SET_GRID) and set segments (with SURF)? I'm using the second one, and I'm not sure it's the best one.

    Thx again,

    Axel

    Hi Axel,

Which version of HM are you using?

Can you try the same operation in latest version like 2023/2024 and check if the set segments are getting lost?

    Thanks

    Rajashri

Without having your model and knowing all the steps leading up to that, it is really hard to diagnose. But you should not lose any set segments if you are not editing the mesh associated to them.

SET_GRID are sets of nodes/grids. And Set Segments as SURF are faces of elements, either shell or solid.
