Linear buckling analysis with 2 loads

Hi everyone,

I have a cylindre with an internal pressure and a ponctual force outside the cylinder (on the bottom). I want to perform a linear bucking analysis on this case with the internal pressure = constant and a variation (for the buckling criteria) of the outside force.

I don't know how to specify this for the buckling analysis. When I performed the analysis it's always a variation of the force AND the pressure.

Regards,

Axel

i've never tried this myself. But looks like (maybe) STATSUB PRELOAD would help you.

You would need to run a previous analysis with your pressure load.

And then an additional loadcase with your single point load, to be referenced later on your buckling.

Inside the buckling loadstep, you could reference the pressure loadcase as STATSUB(PRELOAD).

for modal analysis this would work. For buckling i'm not quite sure, actually.
