Regular Polyhedrons

Overview

Create regular polyhedrons (solid geometry) giving its centroid and side length. Available polyhedrons are: hexahedron, tetrahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron. Once created, user can move and orient the polyhedron to desired location using "position" tool.

Usage/Installation Instructions

1. Unzip the compressed file.

2. Keep the folder "Images" in the same location of the script.

3. Execute in HyperMesh the script "RegularPolyhedrons_v1.0.tbc" (File > Run > Tcl/Tk Script).

 

Limitation

1. In order to avoid some geometric issues, side length must be >= 0.005. After the creation of the polyhedron, user can scale it if this is wanted.

2. Centroid node must exist (mesh node or temp node, do not use "quick node selection").
