How to pull Contact Results and create Pressure Loadcollector
Quick question everyone...
Is it possible to extract contact forces in such a way that they can be imported into another model as a pressure?
The model I have has wearpads with contact OPTI - so I get a text file with a force result for that contact, but when you open the result in Hyperview, you can clearly see how the force varies over the surface.. and that's what I need to simplify my model. Does anyone know how to extract that result? The image below is reported as a net of 13.4kN in the opti file yet clearly the majority is in the corner.

Hi,
Did you try with HG?
Plot in HG and export to excel format and check if that helps?

Hypergraph you mean? Not tried that one.

Hi Andy,
the procedure to extract contact forces in HV:
-instead of the contour, plot the vector contact forces
-in the Query panel activate the node ID, node coordinates and Vector (Contact Force) categories than pick the nodes of interest. Export the table in .csv format.
To import the contact forces in Optistruct:
-analysis>forces>linear interpolation (choose the .csv file)
This procedure can be found on pages 32 and 34:

Yes, you can plot the contact forces in HyperGraph and export the curve to excel or .dat format.
