Hyperworks_"PID" of CTETRA bulk data issue

Hi!

I am trying to analyze this geometry as a simply supported cantilever beam. I have meshed it with the 3D tetra mesh command. However, when I try to analyze it with Optistruct, an error would show up with a message attached below. I am assuming this might have to do with my meshing process since the incorrect data happens in CTETRA. Has anyone encountered this and know what might be the problem and how to resolve it?

Thanks a lot!!

    Hi @Emily Liu

this is a very common error when we are beggining to play with HW and OptiStruct.

The post below discusses about this kind of error and what is it telling you.

But essentially this means your elements/components have no property (PID) assigned to them, so OS doesn't know what are the parameters of this part, nor the material it has.

    Hello Adriano!

Thanks for your help. I have corrected my problem with assigning the component to the property. However, when I try to run optistruct, an error message says "Errors with missing, incorrect, or duplicate IDs found 2037 times." which corresponds to the number of elements in my geometry. The solver view didn't say the analysis failed but when I try to click on results there is nothing showing up in the result window. Do you know what might be the problem?

    Thanks again!!!

It looks like you have assigned the wrong kind of property to the elements, it should be PSOLID, not PSHELL
