When creating joints, geometric feature pairs are detected. The types of features and their arrangement to one another determines if the joint will default to a “Pin”, “Sliding Pin”, “Hinge”, “Translational”, etc.
The three “Connector” settings under in the advanced Run Settings allow the user to specify the default “Behavior” of the joint or support as either Flexible or Rigid.
- “Joint Behavior” setting corresponds to the global treatment of Pin or Sliding Pin joints.
- “Joint Patch Behavior” corresponds to the global treatment of all other joint types, such as Hinge or Translational.
- “Support Behavior” corresponds to the global treatment of Supports.
