Aarhus School of Architecture has made successful use of Altair OptiStruct for the optimization and design of the world's first topology optimized concrete structure prototype. The structure was produced using large scale cnc-milling of polystyrene molds, allowing for a design very close to the direct optimization output. 
The prototype was produced within the frames of the larger collaborate research project - Unikabeton - exploring the potentials for using topology optimization via OpstiStruct as a constitutive design tool in architectural design. Read more at http://fluxstructures.net
