visualizing contact radius

Is it possible to visualize contact radius around a particle?

What I mean by this is that I have a particle of radius R and I have defined a contact radius of 1.2R. Now, during the simulation in the GUI, I only see the particle of radius R. I want to see a faint sphere (translucent sphere) of radius 1.2R engulfing the particle of radius R.

Is it possible to do this in EDEM GUI

Please let me know

    Hi Shyam

Unfortunately, that is not possible in the EDEM GUI.

    Thanks,

Is it possible to visualize it in any newer version, not 2022.3?

    Hi,

Although you can't visualise this you can import a particle template and visualise them that way, i.e. import a sphere (assuming your particles are spheres) of size 1.2R and then you can visualise these in the Analyst.

    Cheers,

    Richard

    Hello Richard

Yes my particles are spheres, but they do not have 1.2R as their radius. Radius is only R

    That's a great suggestion / workaround !
