University of British Columbia uses S-Frame for their winning entry in the at the Canadian National Steel Bridge Competition
The UBC Steel Bridge Design Team competed at the Canadian National Steel Bridge Competition in Sherbrooke, Quebec, placing 2nd overall. They are now moving on to the SSBC National Finals in Virginia. The competition involves designing, fabricating, and constructing a steel bridge to specific requirements. Teams are judged based on multiple criteria including aesthetics, a poster+oral presentation, construction speed, weight, stiffness, construction economy, and structural efficiency. S-FRAME was used for their global structural analysis, and member sizing. A new component was also added this year to create a video about their competition design. The UBC Steel Bridge Design Team won this competition, and featured their S-FRAME usage in the video.
