The EDEM eLearning courses cover the most popular EDEM tools and it is one of the easiest ways to start using the software. If you are a new Altair EDEM user, this course will guide you on how to set up, run and analyze your simulation. The course has 17 different lessons covering the 3 main EDEM components:

  • EDEM Creator: Tools are provided to define particles, import geometries and select the contacts physics
  • EDEM Simulator: Here you can configure and control the settings for the EDEM solver engine
  • EDEM Analyst: This is the post processing component to analyze results

imageMost lessons contain a series of topics with short videos that further explain areas of the Creator, Simulator, and Analyst. For instance, Lesson 6  - Creating Factories, is divided into several topics covering types of Factories, Factory parameters, and usage tips; see the video below. There are other lessons that cover more specific areas, such as the creation of complex material bed profiles - Lesson 12.

Which other courses are available?

In addition to the Introduction to EDEM course, we also provide eLearning courses for the most popular EDEM Couplings with other Altair tools (MotionSolve and AcuSolve) that will help you to extend your EDEM application scope. If you are interested in any of these couplings, check out the eLearning courses EDEM with MotionSolve and Coupling EDEM with Altair CFD

Latest eLearning lessons:

We are constantly adding new eLearning lessons to show you new EDEM 2024 capabilities. . If you are simulating large and complex particle systems with millions of particles, you could benefit by using the GPU CUDA solver. Check out the Introduction to EDEM course - Lesson 15.

Our newest eLearning course provides an introduction to Calibration in EDEM: Altair Course: EDEM - Calibration

How to get started?

All you have to do is to register at Learn Altair and start your EDEM eLearning course. Also, a certificate of completion is available once the course is completed.

Further learning:

Check our EDEM online training 2024 course. It covers a broad range of topics including simulation set up, post-processing and  material calibration. Each session last approximately 2 hours including a dedicated live Q&A session with our EDEM experts.
