Any CAE Crash analyst knows, positioning an impactor for the simulation of impacts on multiple points on an Instrumental Panel (IP) with respect to the FMVSS201 or ECE-R21 regulations, is a task that can take a lot of time when performed manually.
In HyperWorks 2022.1, we officially released our new FMVSS201/ECE-R21 Tool, which fully automates the marking and impactor positioning procedures. It provides a fast, robust, repeatable process and the ability to export ready-to-run solver decks for all impact points on the IP.
The new 2022.1 version provides further key enhancements in existing safety tools:
- addition of the Roof Crush plate positioning in the Barrier Positioning Tool
- improved control of wrap components for belt mesh generation
- automatic update of full seatbelt system when selecting new belt path
- physical test scan data plotting for MPDB post-processing
Along with Safety Tools enhancements, this new HyperWorks version offers also interesting new features in explicit solver interfaces:
- Import of compressed input deck files (.gz) for LS-Dyna and Radioss
- New LS-Dyna R13.0 profile
- New Systems creation workflow
- New Constraint entity for the support of /MERGE/RBODY in Radioss and *CONSTRAINED_INTERPOLATION_SPOTWELD in LS-Dyna
- New Material Behaviors entity for all *MAT_ADD keywords in LS-Dyna and direct integration in all *MAT keywords entity editor
