How to Run Extrusion Process Parameters DOE Study?
The whole workflow will utilize 2 tools of Altair Simulation products. They are: InspireExtrude Metal and HyperStudy. So, users should be familiar with these tools before doing this study.
- Create *.grf and *. hx file in InspireExtrude Metal as general.
- Edit these files to generate 2 *.tpl files which include the variables defined in. here we define 9 parameters as example.
- Define 2 models in a new study in HyperStudy:
- Open Model Resources page, for model 1(*.grf file) add an output file named jobname.grf, This model just generates the GRF file in every run according to the *tpl file.
-
- For model 2(*.hx) add a link file,Select the *.grf file which will be exported by model 1.
4. Then Run a nominal run to test the defined models just now.
Make sure all tests are green marked which means we correctly define the model.
5. Then we will define Output Response according to the results in *.h3d file:
And we will use velocity’s RMS of all nodes on the out surface of the profile to run DOE/Optimization analysis which depends on your requests. (the node ID should be continuous to make select conveniently)
Add your DOE definition job as general process in HyperStudy, make sure that all steps are successfully done with green marks.
Choose the default mode of DOE, more information about these modes can be found on help documentation of HyperStudy.
Apply and Click Next, now you are ready for this DOE job.
When it’s done, you can review all the information and results by different methods. Here we ran 61 DOEs, and all parameters for each case can be easily observed and checked.
