How is external drag body force applied in custom factory?

Hello

I am creating a particle and converting it into a meta particle. Then i am applying the Ganser drag force according to the bibliography research paper "PT-1993-Ganser- A rational approach to drag prediction of a spherical and nonspherical particles" which gives the equation of drag. According to the research article equation 18 in the paper represents the coefficient of drag

I know that for a meta particle altair applies the body force on the centroid of the entire particle. But in this case when i have a meta particle which is made of say 100 particles of particle diameter 25micron is the drag force applied on the centroid of the entire meta particle?

Also when the drag is applied on the meta particle since its a chain but not a sphere is the

equation of nonisometric particle used to compute the force because the meta particle is a chain of particles?

Hello, this paper is from the Altairs bibliography will someone please tell me how i should be interpreting the application of drag force when i use the inbuilt Ganser drag? I am not writing any API to apply for drag.

Will i need to use an isometric equation or a nonisometric equation to apply for drag? I think it should be a nonisometric equation but i need confirmation. If not please explain why

    Hi Shyam,

EDEM will apply the drag force to the centroid of the particle, each individual particle in a meta-particle will be considered as a separate entity when applying the drag force.  So the shape of the meta-particle is not considered.
