Altair Compose® Challenge 5: Drive Inspire using Python in Compose
Altair Compose is commonly thought of as an engineering math toolbox, a tool for handling computationally intensive operations, model complex systems in 0D, process data, etc. but Compose is an equally powerful tool when thought of as a driver of other tools’ simulations and the glue that connects all the simulations and processes of a workflow.
This challenge showcases how Compose can be used for driving Inspire. It is an extremely simplified use case just for illustrative purposes, but you can take what you learn here and use Compose to build models, run simulations incorporate tools other than Inspire, process data, automate repetitive steps, etc.
Open the OML script provided and look at how a system command runs Inspire in batch mode with the python script given as an input. Review the Python script and fill in the code as required to automate the creation of a simple pyramid built superimposing blocks.
Tips: You can follow the comments provided but you can also come up with your own way of building the model.
Level: Easy
Product Required: Compose and Inspire 2020 or later version (including Personal Edition)
The solution can be attached in the comment section of this post. The desired output format is a picture of your model and the python file used to create it.
