Academic, Student, and Personal Edition Licenses for Altair SLC
Altair offers academic licenses for Altair SLC to qualified educational institutions and certain other organizations for teaching and research purposes as well as free licenses to students and community members.
Altair SLC has a built-in SAS language compiler that can run SAS language programs and make use of Python and R compilers to run Python and R code and use SAS language datasets, Pandas, and R data frames. The software runs on Windows, Linux, Apple Mac, IBM mainframes, and in the cloud.
Academic Licenses
Altair understands how important it is for students to have access to leading tools and technologies. Altair’s academic licensing program allows academic institutions to make Altair software available for teaching, learning, and research. In addition to academic software licenses, Altair provides teaching material suitable for college and graduate courses, including documentation, example programs, videos, and more.

Student Licenses
Students in full-time education at recognized, not-for-profit academic institutions can request a student license for Altair SLC. Students must use an email address provided by their academic institution or provide proof that they are in full-time education at that academic institution.
