With this release we introduce a new Dark Theme popular with many other software applications. You can also change the background color of the GUI on-the-fly.
True View provides users with the opportunity to position a model beyond the default orientations of the view cube. Intelligent, automated alignment is available as well as accurate angle definitions via a micro-dialog. Settings can be exported and shared across other sessions.
A Systems Tool has been brought to the new interface and includes many improvements. Systems can be created intuitively without the need to define a base node beforehand and can be edited after creation. Various options are available to create systems using manipulators, align them to a global axis or by entering node IDs or coordinates. Solver specific types are available straight from a drop-down menu in the micro-dialog.
The performance of the Topology Selector has been enhanced significantly as well. Selections ‘by Face’ or ‘by Edge’ are no longer limited by CAD boundaries or intersections. An entity selection ‘by Plane’ (planar or cylindrical) is now available.
Set Segments have their own idle selection and are integrated into relevant context sensitive menus and tools. Segments can be selected by popular methods, such as adjacent, or a selection of segments can be converted into underlying entities by switching the entity selector. It is also now easy to organize segments into different sets via the Organize tool, or to select and delete them via idle.
Last, but not least, the workflow for shortcut ‘Q’ for Show IDs is now additive. This means that after selection of e.g., nodes or elements, their IDs are shown in addition to the ones already displayed, or entirely reset if ‘Q’ is used without a selection.
