Hello Community,

Today I'll share an Automation Data Manipulating use case: Reading, filtering and writing a Punch file using Altair Compose. Punch (.pch) is a CAE output file obtained by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - Structural: Linear / Non-linear / Fatigue etc.

This is a public model of similar script that we've done to a global Railway company where it was possible to save 80% of engineer's task time - avoiding manual and error prone tasks.

There are several functions on Compose for both reading and filtering complex data (like this one with several strings, non-structured results and so on).

Besides that, Compose is able for both reading and writing Excel files, extending Engineering's methods for those who are not experts with scripts.

The whole package can be downloaded here.

Regards.

this save lots of time, indeed. :)

Aerospace and Transport industries do this kind of process all the time.
