Design Explorer not just for HyperWorks anymore. Plus, 2022.1 enhancements.
HyperWorks Design Explorer
Exploration tools like HyperStudy have been available for some time. With the release of the Design Explorer (DE) in HyperWorks 2020, an exploration workflow that was seamlessly integrated into the native modeling and visualization environment was finally available. The main characteristics of DE were ease of use and a natural workflow, flattening the learning curve and opening the doors of exploration to all HyperWorks users. The challenge was, and remains, to provide powerful and insightful features, especially analytics, post-processing, and more and more automated artificial intelligence, all while maintaining the same easy to use, intuitive workflow. DE 2022.1 continues on this path with exciting new enhancements.
Inspire Design Explorer
With the 2022 release, the Design Explorer workflow was introduced in Inspire as well, exposing exploration to an entirely new set of users, even earlier in the design cycle where more advantage may be realized by the exploration results and insights. Inspire's ability to parameterize models, working directly on the geometry, lends itself to tremendous exploration possibilities. And by leveraging the speed of SimSolid (OptiStruct is also supported), users can run even large explorations very efficiently, opening up even greater opportunities for exploration and optimization. Like HW DE, Inspire DE contains new enhancements as well in the 2022.1 release.
NVH Director Design Explorer
For 2022.1, the NVH Director includes a workflow for setting up, submitting, and processing optimizations. By using a Design Explorer-based workflow, NVHD users are able to simply and seamlessly define their design variables, responses, and goals without having to directly create the various solver cards themselves, greatly simplifying the process and avoiding associated errors.
2022.1 Enhancements
The video below is from a recent webinar on all of the topics above. Please watch it to see all of the DE-related updates available in the 2022.1 release.
