Team H2politO utilised HyperWorks to Diminish Vehicle Weight and Fuel Consumption for Shell Eco-marathon Contest in 2015
Team H2politO are a group of students from the Polytechnic University of Turin based in Italy. The students from the team have different backgrounds and responsibilities according to different engineering expertise. The challenge for the team was to optimise a wheel rim CAD model for their Shell Eco-marathon vehicle. Once the rims had been optimised in weight, this lead to less weight rotation which reduced energy consumption and improved the overall vehicle performance. For this challenge to be achieved, HyperWorks CAE software was used which gave the team the ability to make use of different simulation tools for design and optimisation purposes.
