Polito Sailing Team Designed and Optimised Racing Boat using HyperWorks

Polito Sailing is a team of 40 students that manage different engineering responsibilities such as: designing, studying Fluid Dynamics, manufacturing and more. The team participated in the 1001VELAcup which is a contest for students from Italian and foreign universities to design and manufacture boats to compete against other teams. For the project, the team at Polito Sailing had a strong focus towards using recyclable and natural materials such as: Flax Fiber, Basalt Fiber or wood. In order to confirm an ideal structure for the boat, smart modelling and simulation tools from the HyperWorks suite were used to manage the design and optimisation process. Learn more...
