Although topology optimisation is not generally applied in the design process for buildings, it can still be deployed with the right technology tools! This is why James Kingman - graduate at University of Leeds decided to take on a challenge. James had been given a CAD model by Laboratory for Visionary Architecture (LAVA) based on the Bionic tower located in Abu Dhabi.
