RBEs are traditionally used to more accurately distribute a load, or enforced boundary condition. The new workflow makes some powerful defaults to more easily setup models quickly.
In 2021.1 the AutoContact tool has been moved into a new workflow that is much easier to use. Tied and Glued contact are starting to become more popular as ways to easy connect parts together. The new AutoContact workflow reduces the time to create contacts greatly, as well as providing enhanced tools for visualizing the results.
