Rotor + Housing Rotor dynamics in the same model

Hi,

Is it possible to have the rotor + housing/stator in the same model and run a rotor dynamics analysis with one part rotating and the other one static so it's not necessary to perform a previous stiffness analysis?
If possible, is it necessary to use any specific card for rotation, etc?

    Adrunodro,

You can setup your rotor dynamics analysis with non rotor parts such as housing, bearings etc.

You need a rigid between non rotor and rotor nodes- Dependent node/nodes on non rotor nodes and independent node on Rotor node.

There are different types on rotor dynamics analysis that you can do

This link will share all info about different types of rotor dynamics analysis: Rotor Dynamics (altair.com)

Here is a link for tutorial you can follow to understand how to create the model for the rotor dynamic analysis.

OS-T: 1372 Rotor Dynamics of a Hollow Cylindrical Rotor (altair.com)

In this tutorial there is no housing, but basically, one end of the rigid connects rotor, and the other one you can connect to housing.
