Simple Averaging vs Advanced Averaging in HyperView

I was interested in knowing the difference between simple averaging and advanced averaging in Hyperview.

but the just is that simple averaging will compute any tensor/invariant math and then average, whereas advanced averaging will do the averaging at a tensor level and then compute invariants.

 

For example, if you're looking at von mises stress then advanced averaging will average at the XX, XY, YY..... level and then compute von mises stress. Simple will compute Von mises stress and then average.
