Counting Elements in HyperView

Hello,

I am doing SPH simulations with Radioss. When post processing in HyperView I am trying to count the particles that satisfy a condition for one result type. Is there any way I can get an understanding of the number of particles?

For example: I plot the density and I want to count the particles below a Value filter equal to 1.

Is there a way to export this in HyperMesh and count the particles there. In HyperMesh the count command is available.

Thank you in advance!

    Hi Andrea,

There is one solution to count the number of entities in Hyperview. Though it is not direct, but could be useful.

Once you load the model/results, right click on the Tree area and move your cursor to Create, then to Set and then create a node/element set.

If you have chosen to create NODE set, then you can see an empty set (as shown in the second pic). Then you can update the entities by clicking on the section, where there is tick mark.

Create 2 sets as explained above, one at the starting of the simulation (at time=0) and second at the time where you would like to check the no of particles. The difference in the count in these sets, will be the one that are eroding/missing from the model during simulation.

I hope this will be useful to suffice your need.

    Cheers,

    Prasad

Thank you Prasad! This is exactly what I needed.

Actually, in my model the particle are not eroded or deleted.

For anybody interested, if you have to count particles satisfying a certain filtering condition, I suggest you to apply the contour, and then when selecting the nodes choose "by Contour" and apply the filter you need!

    Thank you again Prasad!

    Best,
