Hi, I have a question regarding the composite definition in Altair OptiStruct. I have imported a CAD geometry (STEP file) as a solid into HyperMesh. I have then defined the carbon fiber material as a MAT8 material and I am now creating the plies. My question is, how does Altair define the plies on the geometry? As it is a solid, should I specify which elements are part of the ply?
This is a picture of what my solid geometry looks like. How can I tell Altair to start stacking the plies from the inner surface of the rim?
