1D beam shear stresses in torsion analysis

Hi,

I have created 1D beam (using PBeam element) and preform torsional analysis (using optistruct) by applying fixed support at one end and moment (torque) at other end. When i visualize the results in hyperview, it does not show me the shear stresses. Can anyone help me regarding how to get the shear stresses in 1D beam torsional analysis?

Be sure to be using PBEAML type elements and also to create a Global Output Request Card with the STRESS enabled and the OPTION = ALL.

You should be able to view shear in HyperView then.

Dear Rahul,

First of all thankyou for your reply. I have tried the same procedure you have mentioned (using PBEAML elements and all type of stresses in global output) but I only got CBEAM von miss stresses in output and not the shear stresses.

Do you have any other idea about this?

in case of bus structure for twisting analysis any boundary conditions available.
