Info on Simlab-Optistruct

Hello all and please accept my apologies if my question has been answered in the past. I am interested in simlab's capabilities especially for our design team, so I would like to ask if simlab comes together with Optistruct as a solver, or it has to be purchased as well. I haven't seen any videos about simlab explaining how to setup simlab to start optistruct by default, solve the problem and then view the results within Simlab environment.

Altair SimLab 2019.1 comes with its solver already,  that means OptiStruct, but also Acusolve (CFD), FLUX (electromagnetics).

The solvers are downloaded and installed directly with SimLab and don't require extra purchase. You can run the simulation within SimLab and visualize the results in the same environment.

This is valid for both SimLab sT (solid Thinking licence) and SimLab HW (HyperWorks licence).

 

SimLab HW  - i. e., using SimLab with HyperWorks Licences - offers basically this advantages:

- You can use SimLab also for any other Solver which is not OptiStruct nor Acusolve nor Flux.

- You can use HyperView to perform advanced Postprocessing tasks, in addition of the SimLab postprocessing capabilities.
