How to cut 3D CAD imported motor model

I imported CAD STEP file into 3D application. I want to cut complete motor to just one pole pair section for calculation simplification. How I can delete remaining motor geometry by creating reference plane/line ?

    Hello,

    you must have imported the motor inthe modeler context. From there, there is a cut function which works in two steps (creating sections, then selecting which sections you actually want to cut.

    From there you should have new Objects. You can simply "force delete" the Objects you don't want to keep.

    FYI, make sure you add a portion of cylinder around the rotor part to make a sliding cylinder of air around the rotor. You can create the whole cylinder with slightly higher Z dimension and a radius in the middle of the airgap. Then cut this cylinder the same way to have one pole angle. Make sure you assemble all touching objects
