Hi,

I meshed a component and exported the mesh as an INP file through another software, and I also have CAD file. Would it be possible to import the CAD file as well as the mesh into HyperWorks and then combine them in a similar manner that mesh performed in HyperWorks in order to do analyzing in the software?

Thanks.

Yes, you can combine geometries and orphan meshes in HyperMesh, and then build additional meshes on the imported geometries and combine all of that for running new analysis.

As a matter of fact, this is one of the strengths of HyperMesh.

Pls look at the tutorials included with HyperMesh, or the self paced e-learning modules available on our learning center (learn.altair.com) if you need step by step instructions.

Thank you so much for your hint. This is exactly what I am looking for. Regarding the procedure you mentioned, I would appreciate it if you could send me the exact course or material so that I can explore it in more detail. Thanks.
