Solid component intersection

Hi all. I am using hm_collision APIs for intersection identification of solids (308 solids in 308 components). I am using an allowable depth of 0.5mm. But unfortunately, the APIs still return components having just surface contact as intersected even if there is just contact (no intersection) or intersection less than 0.5mm. Although large intersections are easily identified. I tried using the hm_collisiongetconfig as well but the problem continued. Is there any way to solve this issue (small or negligible intersections reported or contacting surfaces reported as intersected)?
