I have optimized a structure using shape optimization in optistruct. Now i want to analyze the sensitivity of the design variables generated by morphing.

Could any one please tell me how can i do it ?

    Satish,

You can run an optimization (maybe for about 2 iterations) with SENSITIVITY ALL and SENSOUT FIRST in the I/O section.

The SENSITIVITY command can be used in the I/O Options section to request the output of the responses and sensitivities for size and shape design variables to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. The frequency of this output is controlled by the SENSOUT option. The results and sensitivities are output for the first iteration only when you use SENSOUT FIRST

This will output sensitivity information for all the design variables for all the responses for the first iteration.

    also

The sensitivities of responses with respect to design variables can be exported to an Excel spreadsheet (see OUTPUT, MSSENS)The Excel spreadsheet allows the modification of design variables and then computes approximated responses. This can be used to make design studies without running OptiStruct again

Read about sensitivity analyses using OptiStruct and which method to use for Shape optimization etc here

    User's Guide > OptiStruct > Design Optimization > Gradient-based Optimization Method > Sensitivity Analysis
