Hi,

can anyone tell me how to implement a local coordinate system? I'm trying to align the fiber-direction for composite-parts but I don't want to use the global coordinate system. Thank you.

Please try the following working steps:
    1. create the desired coordinate system
    2. then open up the Element Card Editor
    Element_Card_Editior.png

, select the elements of interest (you may need to define the configuration of the elements), then click 'edit'. In the panel displayed in the lower part of the GUI,

    mcid.png

you need to switch to MCID. In the Card edit of the elements you will then see a yellow panel (named MCID) -click on it on select the desired coordinate system.

    Hope this helps

Please refer the attached image to create the LCS i.e. Local cordinate system..

    For Composite:

2D Panel -> Composite -> Check elem normals

there are options to define Material direction and Ply direction too.. means you can apply the stacking as per the layer by layer... refer image composite_Panel
