program starting

I have installed first the licence manager and loaded the licence file ensured me a few weeks ago by one of your colleagues. Then the components of HW were installed, as it was described in the documentations. When I try to start any application, it stops with different error messages like 'segment error occurred' or 'the program stopped abruptly'. I have just formatted the whole hard disc and re-installed windows 7 enterprise, and still have the same problem. Please help me to solve the problem. Thanks a lot

    Hi

    You do not need to install the license manager for a standalone license file, I see from your mail attachment that the license file you are using is a standalone license file (also called a node locked license file).

    The difference between a server based license and a node locked license is that in a server based license, each feature has a COUNT field.

    Please uninstall the license manager,
    Rename the license file to altair_lic.dat
    Place the license file in the security folder found within your installation directory <install location>Altair\12.0\security
    eg C:\Program Files\Altair\12.0\security
    Restart HyperWorks.

    This should fix the problem, apart from the above also make sure there is a valid working directory set up for HyperWorks and that the setting files are deleted.

    Hello,

    Unfortunately I have still the same message (A segmentation error occured), however I did all your instructions. I also tried to install HW directly to C:/, and there is still that error messages.

    Delete the following files (.altair from various locations in the machine) along with the settings files described in the post above and try again
    C:\Users\<your user name> .Altair
    C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local .altair
    C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Temp .Altair

    hwsettings.xml
    hwsettings.xml.bk from the working directory.

    Which version exactly have you installed? have you installed any updates etc
    is it HyperWorks Desktop 12.0.110 - win64
    Please also provide your complete system information.

    In order to verify the integrity of the software executable after download please do a checksum following the procedure below

    Also are you running the program as the administrator?

    1. Find and install winmd5 checksum online
    2. Double click / run the Winmd5 checksum executable
    3. Select the executable by clicking on the browse button or drag and drop the file into the window
    4. Download the original md5 checksum value from the HyperWorks website for the version in question at the link below
