[Shell Model] Is clearance (gap for the blank to flow) between die and punch required while performing a shell model deep drawing simulation?

I am performing a deep drawing simulation on Hyperform Radioss Incremental with shell (surface) models of the components. It is known that a shell model doesn't have geometrical thickness (the thickness is assigned in the property manager). Hence, I have assigned a blank thickness of 2.5 mm, and make the rest of the components rigid.

What I couldn't figure out is that whether or not Die-Punch Clearance (gap) is required in the shell models of die and punch as it is done with solid model.

No need to define the Die Clearance.

When you do the positioning, HyperForm automatically calculates the gap between the die and punch while the die is closed. The gap will be 1.2* blank thickness.

The Die Clearance only be used when you want to define an additional die-punch gap to the above gap value.
