Analysis Hangs at "Evaluating the geometry..." step

I'm trying to run a model which is very similar to previously successful model. Only some minor design changes have been made. With this model, anytime I try to solve (structural linear or modal) it hangs forever on the "Evaluating the geometry..." step. It rapidly goes to 100% on this step and then goes back to 99% and then back and forth a few more times and then just sits forever at 99%. I've let it go for up to a couple of hours just to be sure. The previous similar model would run the full solution in 2-4 minutes on extremely similar geometry.

I'd really appreciate any insights into what may be happening and any guidance for figuring out the problem.

Thank you.

    Hello,

A few question from my end.

    1. Does your geometry has any defects? You check for faceting defects and self intersections using the geometry defects option.

    2. What kind of parts do you have in the assembly? Do you have any protruded parts or sheets?

    3. What version of Simsolid are you using?

Would be great if you can share the model. you can send it to gpolina@altair.com if it is a confidential one.

    Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me.

    1. No defects. I checked all of this and it indicates no defect and no self-intersections.

    2. There are sheets in the model, but I've stripped down things and started building them back up piece-by-piece and none of the sheets are the problem. I believe that I've narrowed it down to the specific component that seems to be causing it to hang up. It is part of a much larger assembly that contains about 200 parts.

    3. I'm using SimSolid 2023.1

It is a confidential model and the main .ssp file is 500+ MB. I'm going to email you right now the .ssp file of just the component that seems to be hanging as well as the parasolid file used for import. This is a pressing project with deadlines this week, so anything you could do to help me out quickly would be really helpful.
