in a gif animation export, the number of frames is the same as your result file.
If this is a transient result, the the total number of frames is equal to the number of timesteps you have, and you cannot change it, if I remember correctly.
In static and modal analysis, at least, you are able to adjust the number of intermediate frames, in the animation setup, so that you gif will have more or less frames in the end, being smoother.
