Error When Running the analysis with GPU CUDA Solver

Hello Community,

I get this error when I try to run the simulation with the GPU CUDA Solver (Attached Photo). I have run other analysis with the GPU Cuda Solver, but I never had get that error. Can anyone help me with that.

By the way, with which solver is better to run the analysis GPU or CPU. I have noticed that CPU solver takes more time to run the simulation, but I don´t know if the results gotten are more accurate.

Thank you for your time. I will appreciate all of your responses

    Hi Pablo,

It looks like your GPU has run out of memory.  When running a GPU simulation it uses the memory on the card not the system memory which tends to be lower.  If you have another GPU card with a larger amount of memory it should resolve this.

The GPU and CPU both default to double precision so there shouldn't be any difference in accuracy of the results (which in DEM is more related to calculation than calculation precision) however on the GPU you can switch precision modes.  In the Simulator Advanced settings you should see the option for Double, Mixed and Single precision, the Mixed or Single precision mode would take less memory than double with the same accuracy for the GPU.

    GPU Precision Modes

    Regards

    Stephen
